佐渡ヶ島に暮らす婦人たちが巻き起こすポップアート、婦人倶楽部。
前作『フジンカラー』から9年ぶりとなる本作は、島での暮らしをユーモラスに切り取った一枚。シティポップや渋谷系を彷彿とさせながらも、クラシカルで室内楽的なアレンジによって独自の世界観を築き上げている。
リードトラック「トキ！トキ！トキ！」では、初期YMOを支えたクリス・モズデルが詩を書き下ろし、谷川俊太郎が訳詞を担当。演奏陣には、徳澤青弦、ゴンドウトモヒコ、千ヶ崎学、張替智広（キンモクセイ）といった実力派ミュージシャンが名を連ね、エバーグリーンな楽曲が完成した。
田舎の山奥から響く艶やかなボーカル。そのギャップに、佐渡の“お洒落”が息づいている。
Information
The women of Sado Island bring forth their unique brand of pop art —FUJIN CLUB.
Their latest album, released nine years after their previous work FujinColor, humorously captures the essence of island life. While evoking the sounds of city pop and the Shibuya-keimovement, the album carves out its own world through classical, chamber music-inspired arrangements.
The lead track, “Toki! Toki! Toki!”, features lyrics written by Chris Mosdell, a key creative force behind early YMO, with the Japanese translation by the celebrated poet ShuntaroTanikawa. The recording also showcases an impressive lineup of musicians —SeigenTokuzawa, Tomohiko Gondo, Manabu Chigasaki, and Tomohiro Harigai(of Kinmokusei) —resulting in a truly evergreen piece.
From deep in the countryside, their graceful vocals resonate — a refined sound where the chic spirit of Sado quietly breathes.
